Dragons don’t need presents
That would please most human kind.
Dragons don’t want most things
That come first to our minds.
Dragons like the simple things
That make a life complete;
Such as good clear air and cool clear water
That always taste so sweet.
Just let them walk through forests
And sleep in sung dark caves;
Soaring over tall mountain tops
Are what most dragons crave.
Bring them first a flower,
Then let them ride the wind;
Scratch their nose and rub their skin
Are gifts that always win.
So when that special day comes round
Which marks each dragon year,
Remember all those precious treats
That bring a smile to touch each dragon ear.
