Leo Ulery Passed Away - another Matlack loss

Recently recieved this sad news:

Just wanted to let everyone know my grandfather, Leo G. Ulery, former Patatskala, Oh, terminal mgr. passed away on January 23, 2005. 23 years service and Terminal Manager of the Year, they didnt come any better than that.
Best man I ever known. Not prejudice at all......Love Ya Pap!!!

Norwich, CT Terminal is Gone

- from Thomas Senuta

Terminal 087 Norwich, Connecticut is no longer there. It was torn to the ground in the year 2004. The property was bought by the local hospital for expansion. The property is undergoing a major cleanup. Most of the former drivers and mechanics, and tank cleaners have retired or have died. Matlack was a good company to work for at the start but it went down hill...

October Party Recap: 10/16/04

Matlack house party in Wilmington was a low-key affair, with just over a dozen members of the green team present. Hot dogs, burgers and plenty of dip kept everyone happy. I guess we'll catch you next time!

Email Greg if you're up for a Happy Hour on some Friday evening.

Matlack Couple Ties the Knot

Pam & Greg

Cuisines sign

The following was sent by Greg Korte and Pam Hanlon:

The summer months have really been busy. Pam and I got married on August 28,2004 at Aldersgate Methodist Church. It was a small family affair with about 30 family members attending the ceremony and the reception dinner was held at Cuisines on 202. The ceremony and reception turned out better than either on of us could have expected. Pam worked hard the last few months to make sure the event was special and everything turned out great. We spent 6 glorious days down in an ocean view room in Ocean City, NJ. The weather was awesome and we spent most of our time on the beach relaxing .

Other than the wedding I have been playing golf with Gary Hostetler on a weekly basis and let me tell you Tiger has nothing to worry about.

Looking forward to the Matlack party on 10/16. Its been a long time since we have all gotten together.

Come to the party to congratulate the newlyweds!
The entire Matlack family wishes Pam & Greg a wonderful future together.

The latest from Ohio

HI! I am Joe Bell. was terminal manager at the Lima, Oh terminal until we left Matlack. Good thing we did although I fought it tooth and nail.
After 3 years with QC I retired and love every minute of it. Raising ponies, woodworking, volunteering at the county fairgrounds. Still keep in touch with Butch in Muscatine, Dottie C. and her sister Phylis. Did keep in contact with Linda E. but she must have changed jobs. Her email address is no longer valid.

Sure do miss a lot of the people at Matlack. They were a hell of a lot better than the corporate people at QC. Appreciate hearing from the former Matlack people.
Do you know where any of the following are and if they have an email address?
Kenny Rhinkus, Joe Lamanno, John Byrne, Charlie Gehringer.
The ones I know about are as follows Shannon Green is a Regional OP mgr. for QC Chuck, Owensboro, is with QC\ Janet N. (Curry) is in sales with QC. Dave Sullivan is terminal Mgr for Superior. Jim Wampler is driving school bus and working at a Golf course. Thompsons from WEstviille ate with Superior. I think!

From the mailbag... Baton Rouge, LA

My name is Valerie Konter. I am trying to gather information on my father Edward Boyd Poor. He started with Matlack many years ago and is a retired employee. In fact my father passed away two years ago and his wife just passed away a couple of months ago. I also understand my father is in hte Truck Drivers Hall of Fame. (Do you have any info. on the hall of fame? Where it is? Dad had plaques on the wall from Matlak. If you have any information or if my father had any benefits available I would like to find out. I also have a picture of Dad as when he was the first tanker in the New Orleans Super Dome making a delivery in a Matlack truck! Let me know if you know anything. Thanks,
