She turns on the T.V. again and tonight, he adorns the spotlight with such beautiful grace and dignity. His clothes, are glitterless and so is his shiny hair. He simply wears a t-shirt and dark jeans and he has shaved, and he has groomed to a little, but much needed extent.
And what now? No more laughter. And she has nothing else to do. She turns off the T.V. No more funnies tonight. And his southern charm seems to be important now and his smile is flawless, unlike before. And his attitude is beautiful, as is he. And she's confused. She doesn't understand why he had to ruin it all. Why he had to stop being the butt of all of her little jokes. And she thinks again, How sad it must be to be him. end |
